Swedish STEM Delegation
The Swedish STEM Delegation is a commission of inquiry appointed by the Swedish Government in early 2025, as part of the Government's STEM strategy. The objective of the delegation is to strengthen Sweden’s skills supply in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) by building a long-term structure for coordinated efforts in STEM education. Its mandate is to be completed by December 2, 2027.
The delegation is chaired by Pia Sandvik, Managing Director of Teknikföretagen, and brings together representatives from universities, government agencies, unions, science centres, teachers and an astronaout.
Our mission
The overarching goal is to create better conditions for more individuals to develop an interest in STEM and gain the knowledge needed to apply for and complete STEM education. The delegation is specifically tasked with:
- improving coordination and collaboration among public authorities, educational institutions, and the business sector,
- increasing girls’ and women’s interest in STEM, and
- promoting the integration of social sciences, creativity, and humanities into STEM education.
